Businesses can help create markets for recycled products — and often save money — buy purchasing furniture, office supplies, and other materials that have at least some percentage of recycled content. For example, there are several high quality paper companies providing 100% post-consumer recycled-content paper at or very near the cost of typical office paper.

The California Integrated Waste Management Board has several programs within the state that feature environmentally preferred purchasing.

RecycleStore

One source of products that fit the bill for recycled content is the RecycleStore. This program of the state's waste board provides a venue for businesses in one of the state's many recycled market development zones to market and sell their products. For example, you could purchase office furniture for your business that is constructed from recycled materials!
