Household Hazardous Waste Collection Locations

The County of San Bernardino Fire Department collects the household hazardous waste from the City Yard twice yearly - on a pre-determined day in April and a pre-determined day in October.

The City Yard is prohibited from storing these wastes, so the date of collection is the date that the Fire Department removes the materials. Watch for a flyer in your utility bill at the end of September.

Remember: motor oil, poisons, fertilizers, old medicines, hobby supplies, pool chemicals, and cleaners cannot be thrown into the trash and should never be poured on the ground or down drains. Take these and all household hazardous waste to the HHW collection center nearest you. Services are all FREE.

Under the terms of County operating permits, HHW centers cannot accept business waste, medical waste, explosives, reactives, asbestos, or radioactive wastes.

NOTE: Per State of California regulations, TV's, computer monitors and other devices that have picture tubes can not be discarded in the trash. These items contain large amounts of lead and other heavy metals which have the potential to pollute ground water if disposed of improperly.
