There are options for disposing of appliances, mattresses, tires, and other materials besides taking them to the dump. If you do not find the information you need on this page, please contact your recycling coordinator for more information.

Appliance Drop Off Day - February

One Saturday in February, the Town of Apple Valley Code Enforcement Division sponsors a free appliance collection, usually at Lion's Park. All white goods, such as stoves, refrigerators, washers and dryers, and so on, may be brought to the collection location for recycling. The actual date of the next event will be publicized as soon as possible.

Mattress Drop-Off Day - March

One Saturday in March, Code Enforcement sponsors a free mattress drop-off. Discarded mattresses are then picked up by a company for breakdown, cleaning and rebuilding. The next mattress collection date will be announced shortly.

Tire Amnesty Day

Tires are now classified as special waste in the State of California, and require special handling. Extra fees are charged for dropping tires at the landfill. The Town of Apple Valley sponsors at least one tire amnesty day each year during which residents may drop off passenger vehicle tires and small truck tires, free of charge. These tires are taken to a cement manufacturer and used as alternative fuel in the kiln.
